Kuwayama exhibited its work "Ecume" for the JJA JEWELLERY DESIGN AWARDS 2017 and conferred the Grand Prize / Prime Minister's Award (highest award) in the Professional Category along with the Craftsmanship Prize.
The JJA JEWELLERY DESIGN AWARDS have long been playing a leading role in the jewellery designing and manufacturing technology in Japan, as the most prestigious contest in the Japanese jewellery industry.
The work we have exhibited this time, the "Ecume", was designed after being inspired by the lens effects and the powerful, energetic beauty which the foam ("écume" in French) has. The motif of foam, which looks like the microcosm expanding limitlessly, has been materialized by combining the parts to which the 3D technology is fully used, crystal, lovely pavé and various other materials and expressions with the craftsmanship.
The winning of the prize has renewed the valuation of the company's original ideas and designing capability as well as its manufacturing technology, which fuses most advanced technology and high-level craftsmanship, to materialize the design.
